I have this model refrigerator and just purchased the #9911 filter to replace my old one. When I try to use my water dispenser the force of the water pushing through the filter causes it to pop out of place. If the refrigerator door is open it will fly across the kitchen. I did buy a second filter believing the first might have been faulty with not enough of the clip to hold in the back or something but the same thing happened. Therefore I am unable to use filter #9911 in my frig and I was wondering if this was a misprint of the part #.

Whitney, I'm sorry you are having this problem with the filter. The 9911 filter is correct. If the filter keeps popping out of place, it will indicate that either the water pressure is too high or the filter housing is defective and will need to be replaced. A technician will need to check the pressure. The most likely problem will be with the housing # 240396002 and it will probably need to be replaced. I hope this will help you.

Q:

why is my refrigerator freezing everything on the top shelf 25353679303

A:

Thank you for your question. I know how upsetting it is to have fresh foods and drinks in the refrigerator freeze. First check the temperature in the freezer. If it is below 0 degrees, try raising the temperature to see if this will resolve the situation. Remember, it takes 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize when changed. If changing the temperature does not resolve the situation, I would check the air dampers to make sure they do not have ice on them or that they are stuck open. If the air dampers are fine, then the defrost thermostat , part #5303918214 needs to be replaced.  It is located behind the evaporator cover at the  back wall of the freezer. If you are not comfortable making these checks, you can schedule a technician to help at Sears Home Services. If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
