I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your refrigerator. The fan inside should be running whenever the compressor is running. It will cycle on and off with the thermostat. If it's not running, it will cause this type of problem but it will normally also cause an accumulation of frost to build up, on the back wall in the freezer. If this is happening, the fan motor will need to be replaced. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, just click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern about the damper. It has been very difficult to determine the reason for the damper either staying open or closing as yours is doing. The source has developed an updated complete control assembly # 5304482075 to correct this problem and the recommended fix is, to replace the complete control assembly. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you.

From the description you give there is an air circulation problem. This might be caused by a non working fan motor or a defrost problem.

First listen and try to confirm the fan in the freezer is working. If the fan is running, the compressor is working too.

If the fan is not working then a defrost issue is most likely the problem.

If the fan is working check for an ice ice build up on the freezer. If there is a defrost system failure, then ice will build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrigerator. You may have to remove the ice maker and rear panel to check this. If you have a defrost problem, you may have a faulty defrost thermostat or a bad Control-defrost, adaptive timer or PC board. These parts can be purchased at www.SearsPartsdirect.com .

I do recommend having a technician properly diagnose and repair this issue. If you like to schedule service, you may do so by logging onto www.SearsHomeServices.com . I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply back to this thread. Thank you for contacting Manage My Life.
