Question and Answers

Q:

side by side refrigerator freeze up prblems 253.52649303

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model number253.52649303; it could be the damper or damper switch. Move the knob and see if the damper closes or opens. Turn the fridge temp control to 0 and see if the damper is still getting continuity. If it is then the temp control could need to be replaced. If not then the damper could need to be replaced.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

Installing Water Filter base 25352649303 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the new water filter base did not come with the instructions to replace it. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

To replace the water filter base the only tools that would be required would be a 1/4" nut driver and a Phillips head screwdriver. All of the screws holding in the housing are 1/4" hex head. The control housing food compartment along with the light and damper assembly must be removed to replace the filter base. To remove the control housing assembly, remove the three screws across the front control box and the two screws located in the rear control box. After removing the cover over the water line on front filter models, remove the screw from the back of the control box. Drop the housing from the unit down to access the lines going into the back of the filter base. Then access the lines coming into the base of the filter head. Press in on the fittings and release the lines from the filter base. Then remove the filter base from the unit. Install the new filter base in reverse order.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-349-5071, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

A:

The water valve that is shown for the model listed is # 241734301. I do not show any part at all using # 2254195000. However, the valve listed above also has the same type fittings that you have described (see picture). I’m attaching a picture with instructions of how to connect and disconnect this type of water fitting. This is the newest type of fitting that most all of the valves, are switching to. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be needed.
