Thank you for submitting your question. Based off your description, I assume you've replaced key #13 in the first image below. Along with key #13, you should have replaced the hinge bearing closer (key #22, image 1) and the door plate closer (key #22, image 2). It sounds like the door is slamming on a faulty bearing. The part information is listed below:

  • Plate part number 240457701 priced at $20.82
  • Bearing part number 240328201 priced at $6.28
You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. After replacing these pieces the door should open and close with ease. I hope this information. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.

Sears sold me a #22 in image one, not the #13 in image one. I have looked very closely and removed the door even and can see that the #13 and the #22 in image 2 are in perfect condition. Plus, it was not making this slamming noise before I replaced the broken #22. What do you think? Thanks again, Matt
