Q:

Refrigerator model 25352322200 leaks from freezer sections food thawed out.

A:

Coming back from vacation to find the freezer has thawed out the contents and water on the floor would be very upsetting. While you wait for the expert to review this model and respond, I did locate two other posts that may provide some information. The first covers a thawing condition and the second leaking from the freezer. I hope these offer some possible answers to this issue.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with your refrigerator. If it's running but not cooling, it will need to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make.

If nothing is running, the problem could be with the thermostat or the defrost control board. A good check for the board will be to disconnect the power for 30 seconds and then reconnect it. If the unit starts running again, the board # 240554502 will need to be replaced. If the thermostat contact is stuck, sometimes tapping the thermostat or turning it all the way off and back on will free the contact. If this brings the unit back on, the thermostat # 5304421067 will need to be replaced. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Most refrigerators now have an automatic by-pass for the water, when the filter is removed. A good check is, to turn the water supply off and remove the filter. Now turn the water supply back on and activate the dispenser. If water now flows, it indicates the filter is clogged and needs to be replaced. If water still won't flow, this model may not have an auto by-pass for the water or the water valve may have failed.
