Question and Answers

Q:

Water will not dispense into Ice Maker 25351693105 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your icemaker is not getting water. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you.

I recommend testing the ice maker to see what is wrong.

1. Check the temperature of the freezer becasue if it is fewer than 17 degrees F it wont make ice.
2.Check if your water fill spout is plugged with ice, if it is then it wont make ice.
3. Check to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve.
4.Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve. If it does then the icemaker itself is the problem and may need to be replaced.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the dispenser. This type of problem will usually be the result of a failed water valve but it could also be an electrical problem. A good check will be to, pull the unit away from the wall and disconnect the power. Now, remove the panel cover to access, the valve. Disconnect the tan and light blue wire connection from the valve and now reconnect the power. Manually activate the icemaker by pulling the front cover off and turn the small gear counterclockwise about a 1/4 turn. This will place the icemaker into a cycle (see image). Toward the end of the cycle it will fill with water. If water still leaks from the dispenser now with the wire connection off the valve, it will indicate the valve # 241734301 has failed and will need to be replaced. If it does not leak, then it will lead to the diodes # 5303918287 that connect to the valve. Replacing the diodes can be a difficult repair and I would recommend having a technician make this repair.  I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further.
