Q:

Our Kenmore Dehumidifier model 25350300002 is running (lights on, sounds like it is working), but is not collecting any water. How can we troubleshoot this?

A:

Hey, It can be very frustrating when your appliances are working properly. I've researched your question and found that someone else on Manage My Life has asked a similar question to yours. I included the link below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your help. Since I think that our dehumidifer is probably over 5 years old, it sounds as if we may need to get a new one.

First it will need to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will in the seal system or with the compressor itself. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping. A technician will be required to make these checks.

If the compressor is not running, the problem could be with the board, the sensor, the compressor start kit, the defrost control or the compressor itself. A meter will be required to check these parts. I'm listing a site you can access to have a tech come out or to take it to the nearest service center. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you need more assistance, additional details will be needed.

Thanks. I was hoping it was something that we could fix on our own, but it doesn't sound like that's the case. Considering the dehumidifier is 5 years old, it's probably more economical for us to look for a new one. I appreciate your input.
