Question and Answers

Q:

Why is Kenmore refrigerator, model number 25348022894, freezing water inside then leaks on floor?

A:

Core Issue: Why is Kenmore refrigerator, model number 25348022894, freezing water inside then leaks on floor? Is there something inside the freezer that is clogged?

The overflow of drain pan will cause water to leak into refrigerator or freezer section. Excess moisture inside the refrigerator, resulting in the drain pan overflowing. Especially in high humidity areas the excess humidity on the freezer coil can cause the drain pan to overflow during defrost. This occurs more frequently during the summer. Perform a manual defrost to remove accessive moisture, instructions are listed below.

Manual Defrost:

  1. Unplug refrigerator or turn off circuit breaker for 8 hours.
  2. Leave both doors open.
  3. Place towels at bottom of refrigerator to absorb accessive water.
  4. Turn power back on, allow refrigerator to stabilize temperature before loading with food.
