A:

It souinds like youi have hit the "water valve" on the head. The expert will review this model and reply within two days. I did locate a similar question that may help and the link to Sears Parts Direct if a new valve is needed.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice maker. This could be a problem with the icemaker, the water valve or a diode. A quick check will be to remove the icemaker and using a well insulated jumper, place it between the black and yellow wires in the harness connection. Be very careful because this is a hot (live) check. If water now flows to the icemaker (be prepared to catch it), the icemaker will need to be replaced. If no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve will need to be replaced. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your freezer. This model can work with a RO water supply. This will actually make better tasting ice. However, in order for the ice maker to function properly, the water supply pressure needs to be between 20 and 120 PSI. If it is lower or higher then this, then the ice maker will not work. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why is water spilling when it defrosts?

A:

Where is the water spilling? Is it spilling on the floor under the freezer or on the floor inside the freezer and eventually on to the floor?

If under the freezer yes there should be a drain pan attached to the compressor. If this pan is missing or maybe it has a crack in it water will drain on the floor but if it is missing unless it has been taken off recently this freezer would have always been leaking.

If the water is leaking inside the freezer on the floor it would indicate a stopped up or restricted drain system. The drain hole under the evaporator may be iced up. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
