Q:

Our ice maker is working but it will not dispense full ice cubes. Instead, it will only dispense crushed ice. Note: the cube light is on when button pressed.

Jackie - thanks for posting the links. I ended up using the following advice from a previous user and it worked! --> "I did another search that led me to check the back of the freezer which has a hole with a gizmo that moves up and down to turn a rod on the ice bin which bypasses the ice crusher. I moved it up and down a couple of times and it freed up (probably a little frozen) and is working as it should now, dispensing my choice of cubes or crushed ice. Maybe this post will help someone else sometime!" Thanks again!

There is a solenoid in the crusher assembly that has to be energized to allow cubes to fall out. This solenoid opens a gate so the cubes can drop out just as they reach the blades. A Ohm meter will be needed to check the solenoid and voltage to the solenoid. A quick check to see if the solenoid is stuck would be to remove the bucket assembly and behind it you will see a saddle attachment. It should lift very easy. If its stuck or hard to move, the solenoid will need to be replaced. If it moves up easily, the solenoid and voltage will need to be checked. A technician will be needed to make these checks. If you need to schedule service. you may do so by logging onto www.SearsHomeServices.com . I hope this information is helpful.
