Q:

How can I replace the water paddle on my Kenmore side by side refrigerator model 253.44383406?

A:

The procedure to accessing the water dispenser paddle is shown in the image below. Be sure that you unplug the refrigerator to completely disconnect electrical power before beginning this procedure. Some Kenmore refrigerators do not have the screws at the bottom of the front dispenser panel. You may have to snap the front dispenser panel if you do not find the 3 screws at the bottom after removing the drip tray.

Once you pull the dispenser housing forward in the final step shown below, you should have access to the water paddle to that you can replace it.

If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.

Same question, I am looking to replace a broken actuator on my Kenmore Elite 253.44383406. I believe the correct part number for the water actuator is 241685705. I do not have the screws under the drip tray, so I can pry the cover and I see two screws on the bottom. Does the front cover come off completely because I am nervous of snapping it. Also, can you send instructions/pictures on how to replace the actuator? Thanks
