Your refrigerator has a main control board located in the rear of the cabinet and another control board inside the refrigerator section. This smaller control board is located behind the displays for the temperature.

It is possible you have a wiring connection causing the problem. It is also possible one or both control boards has failed.

I recommend you go to http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch and get a Sears technician to repair the refrigerator.

This is an error code pertaining to the evaporator fan motor. If the fan motor is running, the main board will need to be replaced. If the motor is not running, some voltage checks will need to be made to determine if the motor or board has failed. A meter that reads dc voltage will be needed to make this check. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why is the water dispenser on my Kenmore refrigerator model 253.44353401 not function properly?

A:

From the description you give most likely the problem is with the dispenser switch.

The flooding can be stopped one of two ways. The water dispenser water valve in the rear with the light blue and tan wire can be disconnected by removing the harness. This would be the easiest way to disable the fill.

Another way would be to access the switch in the dispenser, see the image below, and disconnect the orange and brown wire. If you do this then I'd suggest ordering the switch and replacing it.

The dispenser switch 241679101 can be obtained from the following site: Sears PartsDirect .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
