Parts Diagrams for Kenmore Refrigerator model 25344302400

SAFETY WARNING: Be sure to disconnect power to the refrigerator before you begin this repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock.

Your question does not indicate which thermostat you are replacing. If you are replacing the thermostat control or thermostat sensor, they are located behind the control box inside of the refrigerator section. On the "Controls" diagram, the thermostat control (also called electronic control) is key 21. Key 22 is the thermostat sensor.

If you are replacing the defrost thermostat it is located on the Evaporator. (Please see the "System" diagram, key 21. To access that thermostat you will need to remove the evaporator cover which is screwed to the back wall inside of the freezer section. (Please see the "Cabinet" diagram, key 10.) Start by removing the food and freezer shelves. (If you feel this will take you some time to complete the repair, you may want to store your food on ice in coolers to prevent defrosting.)

The third thermostat on your refrigerator is the ice maker thermostat. That part is key 13 on the "Ice Maker" diagram.

If you feel like this repair is going to be more than you want to tackle, you can set schedule a technician at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663. I hope this answers your question. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

What's wrong with this icemaker?

A:

If the icemaker is not filling at all, the problem could be with the water valve or the icemaker itself. A good check for this would be, to manually cycle the icemaker. To cycle this icemaker, pull the cover off and you will see a large and small gear. Turn the small gear counterclockwise and the icemaker will start. Watch it go through a complete cycle and towards the end, it should fill. If it cycles completely but doesn't fill, the water valve will probably need to be replaced. Some voltage checks would need to be made, to determine for sure. If it does fill, it indicates the icemaker is not cycling and will need to be replaced. If you need more assistance, you can resubmit your question with more details.
