Question and Answers

Q:

After defrosting our freezer, 253.29111990, & allowing the temp to drop below 0 degrees we switched on the alarm and it continues to buzz. Why?

A:

The freezer alarm continuing to buzz would be a concern since it does not stop and the temperature is zero. While you wait for the expert, you can check a similar question from a previous post if you like. It has some additional temperature checks you may want to make. I attached the link below.

A:

I can understand your concern about the alarm. The information you have received is good but does not pertain to this model. This will most likely be a problem with the cold control (thermostat). There is a second set of contacts in this thermostat that signals the alarm. If it gets stuck the alarm will constantly sound. A good check will be to disconnect power to the unit and now pull the thermostat out to access the wires. Disconnect the pink wire (make sure it doesn't touch anything) and plug the power cord back in. If the alarm does not sound, the thermostat # PS425069 will need to be replaced. This is a replacement thermostat. The original is no longer available. This thermostat is available at partselect.com . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful.

Q:

I have a Kenmore Upright Freezer, Model # 253.29111990, Serial # WB92126594. What is the cubit feet capacity?

A:

The inside capacity of the freezer is measured in cubic feet. To determine how many cubic feet your freezer is, take a measuring tape and measure the following:

  1. The depth, width and height of the freezer compartment (e.g. 2’ X2 .4’ X1’ = 4.8 cu ft)

* NOTE: REMEMBER TO MEASURE IN FEET

Q:

What is the cubic feet size?

A:

The model number you submitted is apparently incomplete. It appears to be one number shy of a complete model. Based on what I can get information on this will be an 11 or 21 cubic ft. freezer. If this is a small freezer then it's the 11 and if it's a bigger freezer then it's a 21 cu. ft. model. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details and a complete model number.
