Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when you have a new freezer and are having troubles.

There is only one basket.   It slides on runners for each side. Sounds like one of the sliders isn't right.   Sorry to hear you are having trouble with it falling/dropping.  It sounds like this is a new freezer?  I would contact our service department 1-800-469-4663 and have them come and take a look at it since it will be under warranty for 1 year.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Thank you for your response. The freezer is not a new one and is not covered under a warranty. So I would just need to know what I need to get to keep the basket from falling. Thanks!

Once the temperature in the freezer starts going up, the alarms on newer freezers do start going off.

Without the model number off of the freezer and not knowing how warm the freezer is inside, I am not able to provide you with any specific information.

if the temperature is 20 degrees, the alarm and light are working properly. This is too warm for the freezer. The temp alarm sounds and flashes at approx. 15 degrees and will shut off at approx. 6 degrees.

I recommend checking the temperature first to help determine if there is a cooling problem. To check the temperature, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is not a good check. If the temperature is ok (between 0 - 5 degrees) and the alarm is on, the most likely problem will be with the main module. I hope this will help you.

Based on the information listed, this sounds like a seal system problem. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website:Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Depending on the problem and your own comfort level in doing reapirs will determine if it is more cost effective to have it repaired or replaced.
