Q:

moving a freezer 253.28262804

A:

it's good you waited 2 days before plugging it back in when it's laying down oil from the compressor runs towards the top and it's takes a bit before it runs back down after it's right side up lots of people make the mistake and plug it back in as soon as they can and burn the compressor out because of the oil so you did good as for the green stuff cant be gas cause it not green so it can be maybe something spilled in the past now leaking out because other than that a fridge is nothing but an insulated box with Freon compressor and maybe some wires my opinion hope it helps.

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when you are having trouble after moving  your Freezer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number 253.28262804.

It is a good thing that you let it stand at least 24 hours before you plugged it back in.   This standing time gives things time to settle.   Leave it in an upright position if you do it again.   You should be fine and nothing else needs to be done.  What you see is probably the oil.  When you stand it back up for at least 24 hours the oil will drain/migrate back to the compressor.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when the freezer is not functioning correctly.

Please send me the model number of the freezer and I will look at parts to see if there is anything missing or if that is the way it was designed.

Sharon, The machine compartment, where the coils and the compressor are located, on this model it is open to allowing cooling and air circulation. Sorry it was designed that way.

Sharon, I would not recommend it, a screen could cause problems with the air circulation.
