Q:

Water leaking underneath freezer 253.28092802

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Upright Freezer, Model: 253.28092802. From reviewing the details on your model, if there is no moisture that may be dripping from the front of the cabinet or under the door, this would lead to leak inside the cabinet. Sometimes sealing any gaps you can find under the cabinet will correct this type of problem. Also check for cracks or gaps on the liner inside the cabinet. As long as it's still freezing good, it would probably be worth having a technician check it. The crystallization on packages would indicate air is leaking inside the cabinet. This could also be leading to the water on the floor. Check the door to a make sure it's closing well and check for gaps in the door gasket. If there gaps, a hair dryer can be used to smooth them out. Just be careful not to get the gasket too hot and melt it.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the freezer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Q:

Soft Ice Cream: Freezer not Hard Freezing 25328092802

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue with the soft ice cream and the high temp indicator. I know how concerning that is to have happen.

The normal temperature is zero degrees. Now, if ice cream melted, the temperature may have gotten too high during the off cycle. If there is not much of a load (food) in the freezer, the off cycle temperature can get high before it comes back on again. In this case, you can place some ice or containers of water inside and when frozen they will help keep the temp down during the off cycle. If the high temp light is staying on even when the temperature drops, it could be a problem with the sensor or the control. I would recommend having a technician check the sensor before replacing the control.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
