Question and Answers

Q:

TO MUCH FROST 25327042700 Kenmore Freezer

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I would suggest manually defrosting the freezer by unplugging it and let it start over if you can. When a freezer needs defrosting, the frost forms heavier on the top shelves.

Usually when a freezer has a short frost pattern, it indicates it's low on refrigerant and may need to be serviced. However, this issue usually shows symptoms of warmer temperatures in the lower shelves.

Depending on how frosted the upper sections are after the defrost, the defrost thermostat may not be working 100%, kicking the heater off early and not completing a full defrost cycle.

It might be worth having a technician come out to check the refirgerant and having a multimeter diagnostic done on the defrost system to identify the root of the issue. However, if the temp inside the freezer is below 0 degrees, that is a good sign that it's not a refrigerant issue.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

Hopefully this helps and let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question. It's nice to know the size of your fridge. This is a 20 cubic foot model. These freezers use very little electricity. I hope this will help you.
