Q:

kenmore freezer, model 25326072102 - where is the fuse located? Power is on to the freezer, but it is not getting cold.

A:

Having a freezer not doing its job and putting frozen foods at risk can be upsetting. I found a link to a "how to" web site that may help and I also attached the link to the owner's manual below. These may help while you wait for the expert answer.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

According to the service manual this model does not have a fuse. If the unit is running & not cooling I suspect a defrost cycle failure, fan or compressor failure. Open the freezer & remove the storage basket, if the back cover #25 has frost accumulation this is a sign of a defrost cycle failure. The freezer fan should also be running as long as the compressor is running. Most of the testing of the suspected components will require using a volt/ohm meter. Other possibilities; control board, temp sensor or wiring harness problems. Please see the images provided below for more information.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I change the battery for my freezer alarm? Model # 25326072102

A:

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I understand the confusion when trying to replace the battery. I looked at the mechanical parts break-down on your model. It shows the battery to be located behind key number 72, the base grill (toe plate). There is key number 103 called a battery cover and key number 102 a battery clip. The image shows it just to the right of center, behind the toe grill.

If you need further assitance please let me know. Thanks for visiting ManageMyLife.com

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern about the alarm. You have received some good general information from Jackie. The alarm can be turned off as indicated. If the temperature is not rising above 15 degrees, the alarm should not be sounding. I suggest checking the temperature when the alarm sounds, to determine if it's working properly or not. When the temperature reaches approx. 15 degrees the alarm will sound. The best way to check the temperature is, to place a thermometer between some packages. Air temp is not a good check. If the temperature is ok but the alarm is sounding and the display is blinking, check for a loose connection under the door and also at the module next to the compressor. Be sure to disconnect the power first. If the connections are ok, the module # 216979700 will probably need to be replaced. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
