Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com. I apologize for the delay in responding to this inquiry, I can definitely help.

Based upon the model provided for the Kenmore Upright Freezer, I do not see a compressor cover panel being used on this model. You are exactly right though, there are some models, more with refrigerators than freezers, that use the compressor cover panels. Typically they are made of cardboard and are just meant to keep dust and debris from accummulating as much as possible from around the compressor. If you felt inclined, you may attach something back there to act as a cover, but it's not necessary.

If you have any further questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

A:

According to the model number, this appears to be a 21 cu. ft. freezer. The freezer was probably manufactured around 2001 or 2002. The serial number has a code that indicates the exact date of manufacture. The serial number format is shown in the image below.

A 21 cu. ft. freezer probably sold for about $500 to $700 in 2001.

Q:

Can you get me a copy of the owner's manual?

A:

The owner's manual for this freezer is # 5995351102 and it's available at SearsPartsDirect . If it's running and not cooling at all, it could be problem in the seal system or with the compressor. If it has a thick build up of ice on the back wall, it will also keep it from cooling properly and will be a defrost problem. If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.
