A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about the cubic feet of your Kenmore freezer model 253.1692210. I will be happy to help you with this. The cubic feet information is normally on the Energy Guide card that comes with the freezer. In this case the freezer is 8.8 cubic feet. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

I know how important it is to have as much useful information about your appliance as possible so that it is easier to find replacement parts and part numbers. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and the owners manual from the Manage My Life website. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. The tabs holding the panels together will pry out. Use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry the tabs out. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you for your question. Replacing some this lid can be a little tricky sometimes. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for replacing this lid. First, disconnect power from the unit. Now, disconnect the harness connection behind the door and remove the screws holding the door to the hinges or the complete hinge assembly. You can now lift the door and lay it down. Remove all the clips (tabs) from under the gasket all the way around the door and now lift the inner panel off the lid. If the new door does not have the handle in place, you will need to remove the handle from the original lid and install it in the new lid. To remove the handle, the overlay (# 57 in picture) will need to be peeled off, to access the screws. This will usually damage the overlay # 216885401 and it will need to be replaced. The lock assembly may also need to be removed and installed in the new door. You may need to remove some of the insulation to access the lock assembly. Now, place the inner panel and gasket back on the lid and place the clips back in place to hold it together. Place the lid back on the freezer and connect the hinges and harness. The lid may be bowed now and you will need to bow it back in place. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
