Q:

Chest Freezer Running Almost Constantly 25316552102 Kenmore Freezer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the freezer isn't working as it should.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 253.16552102.

There are 2 probabilities for the problem of the freezer to continally run.  The first item to check out and easies is the door gasket.   If you open the door or close it do you feel and hear that tight seal sound that you used to feel and hear?  If not then you need the door gasket/seal.   It is what keeps the cold in and the hot out.   If it isn't the seal then you need to replace the temperature cold control switch on the bottom outside corner left side.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

The freezer is great for storing food and buying in bulk. The freezer not working can be concerning. I found some information for you that I am hoping will help you until your expert answers your question. To better help your expert, I would like to suggest adding your model number. It may take 24-48 hours. I do hope everything works out with the freezer.

Thank you for the model update. That did help. I can understand how upsetting it would be to take a freezer out of the box and have it not work.

First, check the outlet to make sure the freezer is getting correct power. Plug another small appliance in for a quick check. I would also check by connecting to a different outlet as some outlets have a ground fault interrupt.

If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself, the control. or a defective thermostat, Check the rear for loose or broken wires. Even if the freezer was not moved, something may have come loose.

If the freezer continues to not start, I recommend having the unit serviced. You can schedule a Sears technician here; Sears Home Services .

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your chest freezer. On this model you have a standard 120 volt power cord. These are very common parts that can be replaced, but I would not recommend that you do this. This is because the color coding on the wiring maybe different from the new cord. If it is install wrong, it could short the compressor out. I would suggest you have an electrician or a technician do this for you. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
