A:

If the compressor is running but the unit is not cold then most likely there is a sealed system problem or a problem with the compressor. Another possibility is a problem with the flash defrost system. You will need a technician to check this problem. A compressor or sealed system problem would be to expensive to repair and replacement would be a better option.

A:

The answer Anne sent refers to a clicking noise coming from the cold control on a freezer.

I suspect the clicking noise you hear is coming from the compressor overload. You can remove the access panel on the end of the freezer and tell where the click is coming from.

The clicking noise is not a fire hazard. If the freezer is cooling ok, I would ignore the clicking sound. If the freezer is warming up you should go to Home Services and get a Sears technician to repair the freezer.
