Go to page 8 in your owner's manual and make sure the chute and controls for the chute are correctly attached. If there is any doubt, take it loose and put it back per the instructions. It can be connected incorrectly and it not be obvious other than it not working. The manual has good drawings to demonstrate how everything should be connected and attached.

If you have misplaced your manual you can go the "manuals" section on our site and pull a copy of it up there.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I have encountered the same problem; something appears to be broken in the chute directional control housing which is a sealed unit so I can't find a way to open it up. Any suggestions for what to do? I have gone through all directions for reinstalling the hex rod, etc.

Q:

My model is 247-88830 joystick chute and pitch control not working 11047781702

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

In order to remove the block, you will need to remove the roll pins. You can use a punch with a 5/32" to get them out. From there the block can be separated. I was not able to enlarge the instructions I have any larger without distorting them.

I was not able to find any assembly/disassembly instructions for this joystick outside of what's been provided.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
