Question and Answers

tiller drive not tilling 247296650 Craftsman Sears roto spader

Thank you for choosing I will be more than happy to assist you.  I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

From the information provide by you, I’m showing that there could be a couple different issues that could be causing you the grief. The first thing would be to make sure the unit has had a proper tune up. Sparkplug, oil, air filter, and spark cable, anything to deal with the performance of the engine.

After that would be the belts on the unit. Make sure they are showing any signs of uneven wear, or dry rotting. Another thing with the belts is they could be stretched and you wouldn’t know until you took them off. I suggest replacing them both.

The last thing would be the gear case. You could have a faulty gear inside that unit that could be stopping your tiller mid spin. Now that would be the most extensive repair so try the tune up, and belts first.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. If you have any further questions or concerns, you will have to post a new question. Again, thank you for choosing
