I have the manual but it doesn't tell me how to remove the fan. I tookout the pin and I thought the fan would easily be removed but it doesn't. Do I just keep pulling? I tried some pressure to remove the fan but it doesn't budge.

The fan blade is pressed onto a D-shaped shaft. After you pulled out the pin on that shaft, you should have been able to pull off the fan blade. You can then access the screws that secure the motor and remove it.

Be sure that you have the house electrical breaker for the range hood shut off (or the range hood unplugged) to disconnect electrical power when accessing internal components.

This is an AC fan motor. To the switch will provide variable AC power up to 120 volts to that motor. I assume that the light was working on the unit (which verifies that it has a proper AC power supply). If you are completely confident that you can safely measure the AC voltage being supplied to the motor, you can position the motor wires so that you can measure the live voltage. Power up the range hood and turn the fan switch on to the high speed. Check the AC voltage on the wires for the motor. If you measure AC voltage through those wires then the switch should be good. If you do not measure voltage, then you will need to replace that fan switch. NOTE: You should only check this live voltage if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure it . Disconnect electrical power immediately following this test.

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
