Thank you for your question on the 15 hp outboard motor.

The Force manual calls for .040 gap on the spark plug but I find that this gap can make the outboard hard starting. This is for an engine up to 1992. Some other manuals call for a .030 gap.

I recommend .030 gap on the L87YC spark plug which is the Champion preset on the plug.
