Question and Answers

Q:

What is the clearance I need to use this microwave above a gas range? JVM1640WB004 Ge Microwave

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about installing a range below your GE microwave model JVM1640WB004. I will be happy to help you with this. I have included the link below for you to view the GE microwave installation manual.

GE Microwave Installation Instructions

Based on the information on page 9 of the manual, you need to have 30” from the TOP of the microwave to the top of the cooktop. To figure out the distance between the bottom of the microwave and the top of cooktop, measure the height of the microwave and subtract it from 30. That will give you the inches between the microwave bottom and the cooktop.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

My Kenmore Elite BBQ model 141.16691 is LPG. I want to convert it to natural gas. Is this possible?

A:

I am sending you the information in the owners manual for your gas grill pertaining to converting the grill to natural gas. It is not recommended that the grill be converted.

IMPORTANT: Your Kenmore LP Gas Grill cannot be converted to use Natural Gas. Attempting to do so is extremely hazardous and will also void the grill warranty. Grill Installation Codes The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with either the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, or CAN/ CGA-B14g.1, Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code. 2 © Sears, Roebuck and Co.

Did you ever convert? I have the opposite problem, going from NG to LPG. Judging from the detailed parts list in the manual, it appears that the only technical/operational difference between the NG and LPG models is the regulator. If you have discovered any additional info I would appreciate it.
