Question and Answers

Q:

What is Oil/Gas mixture recommendation for a 1982 9.9 hp Eska outboard? 21758881 Craftsman Sears ted williams 7.5 hp. outboard motor

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
These Eska outboards use a fuel mix of 24:1. I would buy a quality 2-cycle oil made for marine applications, not just standard 2-cycle oil for lawn and garden equipment like trimmers.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Won't shift into neutral Craftsman Sears ted williams 7.5 hp. outboard motor

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

We do not have any service manuals on this Ted Williams outboard. I can only suggest to check the Ted Williams Outboard Motor Forums to see if someone out there has any experience or manuals for your model.

Your model does have clutch that must release for nuetral and I must assume something in the clutch or shift rod is not releasing. You can view parts of boat motor at Searspartsdirect. It appears that the majority of the parts are NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com. Due to the age of this Ted Williams 7.5hp outboard motor, available parts may be sporadic for it.

In regards to the no longer available (NLA) parts, I would recommend Googling the part numbers online to see if you can find any new old stock available for them in circulation somewhere.

For the gaskets we don't have, you may want to try a gasket creater/maker that you can use to make a gasket. You can pick it up at any local auto parts store, it's pretty common.

I do see that we still have the carburetor gasket part number 510299A available. For your convenience, I have included a blue link below you can click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page to purchase the gasket.
