Q:

interchangeable carburetor

A:

Knowing if the carburetor is compatible would be great. I did some research on your model number and the part number. I was not able to find out if they are compatible. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take 24-48 hours. I do hope that everything works out with the boat motor.

Thank you for your question on the interchangeable carburetor.

I cannot confirm that the part number 632129B will fit model 217.585750 out board motor.

I show the part number for the carburetor to be 632120, which is no longer available.

If you still have the original carburetor you may be able to rebuild the carburetor.

I will give you a link for some available parts for this carburetor.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with removing the bearings. If the shaft is removed, you can try to use a long punch and hammer to remove tap out the old bearings. You have to be very careful not to gouge the housing. You can also use a slide hammer and a pilot bearing puller. Auto zone has this tool on their loaner tool program. The pilot bearing puller hooks to the backside of the bearing then the slide hammer attaches to it. While supporting the tool slide the weight back to pull the bearing out. I hope this is helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks Mark, once again you were "spot on"! My local auto zone did'nt have that particular tool on the loaner program so I priced it and it was going to cost about $40.00. Having spent all my allowance on parts I had to go another route so I got a piece of all- thread, ground the nut down to were it would go easily through bearing, had to work on that a few minutes to make sure it wasn't scraping the walls, I put a couple rounds of electrical tape around the pulling nut, just to be careful. The hardest part was getting the all-thread screwed onto the nut. Anyhow it worked fine. Thanks Mark for your help! I really appreciate it! I've got the motor completely torn down now and ready to start rebuilding, thanks again!
