Q:

LF problem 11027087601 Kenmore Elite Residential washer 11027087601

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your washer displays an error code.

LF

stands for long fill and occurs when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on.

All washers are designed to operate with a water supply pressure of 20-100 PSI. When the pressure drops below 20 PSI the washer can have the following problems:

Slow Fill- low water pressure reduces the speed at which water flows into the machine.

Verify the pressure at all other water sources in the house (i.e. sinks, showers, etc..). If you find other places where the pressure is low, the problem is not with the machine but with the water supply.

Continuous Fill- The valve may not fully seat under 20 PSI which would allow for a constant flow even when the machine is not supposed to be filling.

Contact the water company to verify the pressure being supplied to the house.

dispenser- Needs a minimum amount of pressure to function. May dispense constantly, at the wrong time, or not at all.

A plumber may need to be consulted if the pressure is found to be too low.
8572540 is the pressure hose.

I understand your answer but I am very confused. The LF error ONLY happens when I select "normal" wash. It does not happen when I choose any of the other 8 other settings (sheets/towels, bulky bedding. express wash, etc). Water pressure at the house is not applicable to this problem. I appreciate your assistance, do you have any other thoughts on why I receive the error only under "Normal" wash"

Q:

Ice maker for Elite Trio leaks

A:

Thank you for choosing ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it can be when the ice maker leaks. First, make sure the your water pressure isn't too low. The pressure should be between 20-100 pounds per square inch to function properly. A minimum of 35 pounds per square inch is required for refrigerators with a water filter installed.
Check if the ice maker has ice hanging from under the molder. This will indicate that there is a crack on the mold and the ice maker would need to be replaced.
Since there is water running from the back area, make sure that the water tubes and fill elbow (key #16 on the image below) are not cracked and are installed properly.
I also recommend checking your door gasket as this issue may have caused leaking there. I have included instructions below on how to check the door gasket.

1. Test the refrigerator gasket with the power connected, if desired. Open the door and place a piece of paper or dollar in the door gap, between the metal and the rubber gasket lining the inside of the door. Close the door and tug at the paper. Resistance from the door seal indicates no gap or leak in that portion of the door.

2. Repeat the testing procedure all along the perimeter of both the door to the refrigerator and to the freezer. Any areas where the paper easily pulls out from the door have a leak or gap in the gasket.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The installation guide and the Owners manuals do not mention a GPM requirement for this washer. They do state a water pressure of 20-100psi (138-690 kPa) for best performance.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
