It sounds like the compressor has locked up and that is why it only hums and clicks and will not run and cool.

The compressor is no longer available and it is uneconomical to repair. Even if the compressor was available it would be over $500.00 to repair.

Please consider purchasing a new model freezer.

I can understand your concern about the door hinge on this freezer. Normally, using an oversize screw, to make some new threads, will correct this type of problem. You can go to a local hardware store for a larger screw. I hope this will help you. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
