The information you received from James is correct. Valves will need to be installed, to check the system and determine if, it has a low charge. This type of check requires special equipment that a technician will have. I'm attaching a link you can access, to have a tech come out Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . Thank you.. Ok then heres my problem i stored my freezer for some years and now am able to use it but it is not getting cold.. It worked great before i stored it..i thought maybe i could put refrigerant in it myself but no .. Do u have any ideas what could be going on ? I feel the compressor and its warm and running... Theres apparently a temperature control switch/ relay on the freezer could that be why its not getting cold? I really dont want buy a new one .. No money too and no money to have repair man come out. Thanks

First, check to see if the compressor is running. If it is running and not short cycling, it will indicate a problem in the sealed system. It could be a restriction, a low charge or the compressor may not be pumping properly. If the compressor runs for a short period of time and quits, it could be a problem with the starting device, the thermostat or the compressor itself. These are checks a technician will be required to make. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
