Q:

how do you replace mounting gasket on disposer 175.665301 175.665301

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your disposal and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 175.665301 and it is fairly easy to replace. You will need to loosen the drain pipe from the disposal  that connects to #24 in the diagram. You will also loosen the flange  (#10). Once the flange is off the disposal will come down and you will be able to remove and replace the mounting gasket. Here is a video will help in the repair.

Q:

My Sears 300 Disposer Mo# 175665301 seems to have a problem. The grinding platter has disconnected from the motorshaft & no longer spin. What needs replacing

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your disposer model 175665301; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Based on your description of the grinding disc coming loose there could be a number of parts needed for repair. The disc is held on by a nut, that’s simple enough, however if it was loose for any time at all there is most likely damage to the shaft that it is attached to. The shaft is part of the motor. Disassembling a disposer of this age will most commonly damage parts, seals and bearings, corrosion of the housing parts will probably prevent reassembly without many new parts. I will attach here a link to Sears Parts Direct for you convenience. I would recommend just replacing the entire disposer as opposed to repairing because of the expense. Here is a link to Sears.Com and disposers, for you to view and decide your best option. I hope this helps.  If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.
