Q:

Trimmer spool keeps feeding, turns into a rats nest 17274544 Craftsman Weedwacker

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

First, I recommend checking the size of the line. The line size should be 0.065. If you use the wrong line, it will not feed correctly. If the line size is correct, I recommend taking the spool out and cleaning all of the parts to the cutter head. What can happen is debris build up in the assembly and cause the spool not to lock.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with removing the trimmer head. I suspect the head on this model is threaded onto the motor shaft. First, look above the cutter head for a hole to insert a small screwdriver to lock the motor shaft. Then insert the screwdriver to keep the shaft from turning. Once the shaft is secured, try to turn the cutter in the same direction the motor turns. It might take a bit of force to break it loose. Once it comes loose, spin it off the motor shaft.

I hope this is helpful. If this does not work please let me know I will contact the factory on Monday.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
