Question and Answers

Orbital Sander is not developing sufficient power to sand when the disk is applied to the workpiece. 17227675 Craftsman Sander

Thank you for the inquiry and for using I am sorry to hear of the lack of power with the orbital sander, I know how frustrating that is, especially when you need to use it.

Specifically, I think the lack of power would stem back to the motor brushes needing to be replaced, but it would be a good idea to replace both of the ball bearings as well, as they will wear with usage and time, just as the brushes. Since you will have to replace the brushes, it would be worth it to replace the bearings at the same time.

You will need two of the carbon brushes and one of each bearing to do a complete job on it. For convenience purposes, I have included blue links below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page to purchase the necessary parts. All the parts would be around $16 for their cost, plus shipment and tax, which will put you right around the $25 dollar mark. You should be in good shape.
