Lee Ann - The manual for your saw is available at the link below. On page 16 of this manual it gives a voltage of 120 and an amperage of 13, this give a KVA of 1.56, unfortunately it does not give a power factor and without that it is impossible to calculate the Horsepower. However assuming a power factor of 0.8 this would give a Kilowatt rating of 1.248, as 746 Watts is equates to one horsepower this will give a horse power of 1.67. It is important to remember that an electric motor developes its maximum torque (twisting effect) at zero revolutions and also it draws the heaviest current in the stall (starting) position. This is very likely the point at which it will draw 13 amps. The 'expert' may be able to quote a horsepower but without quoting the speed at which that horsepower is developed it is relatively meaningless. Why are you querying the horsepower?

The manufacturer does not list or assign a horsepower rating to this saw. The only specs listed for it are on page 16 of the manual. If you do not have a copy of the manual, you can click the "manuals" tab at the top of this page and use the model number to download a copy.
