Q:

Craftsman snow blower chute falls off

A:

I believe there is something wrong with the chute adapter on your machine. It should be round where the chute connects to it. Best I can remember, that piece is plastic and I wonder if it did not somehow become mis-shapen at some point.

If this machine is still under warranty then it should be no problem for service (1-800-4-MY-HOME) to send you a new one. The replacement part number is 731-1696B. If the machine is out of the warranty period, you can go to Partsdirect.com and order the replacement part yourself.

Q:

Craftsman 25cc mini tiller

A:

The mini tiller is a great yard and garden tool I understand it can be problematic when it does not start. I found some information that I am hoping will help you. I am adding the links below to help you with your question while you wait for your expert response. I would like to suggest adding the full model number to help your expert. It may take 24-48 hours.

It is possible for the machine to get too hot to run, but that would not happen in that small amount of time. If you're able to start the engine back up, run it until it quits again and then check to see if you have spark. To check for spark: Remove the spark plug and then plug it back into the lead. Use insulated pliers to hold the threaded base of the plug against the aluminum block. While holding the plug there, pull the cord (as if to start) and watch the tip of the spark plug to see if there is spark. If there is then we know we have "fire" and the problem will be something else. You can put the spark plug back in place after this test.

If there is fire (spark) when you test for it then I think the problem will have to be related to fuel. Check to make sure there isn't a pinched fuel line or anything in the tank that may have become lodged against the fuel filter and is restricting fuel flow.

Let me know what you find with this and we can proceed as necessary.
