Thank you for your question.  Poor tension on a sewing machine can be very frustrating to resolve. I am assuming you checked the troubleshooting in the manual. Try the recommendations in this post .  The manual number listed is different but the directions are basically for any sewing machine.  This video may also help isolate the issue. If the tips and suggestions here do not help, I would recommend taking the machine to a service center for repair.  You can use Sears Home Services to locate one close to you. Thank you for using Manage my Life.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand you dilemma with the bobbin and shuttle coming out of the bobbin case together.

Sometimes when the thread gets jammed it will pop the shuttle open because the lock wings are spring loaded.

The bobbin has a little spring loaded lever that will release if from the shuttle hook.

The shuttle race cover is what holds the shuttle hook in place. The cover is held in place by the two wing arms on the shuttle assembly.

In the images below it will show you both the parts breakdown and the operation of the bobbin case and shuttle assemble.

I hope this will help both you and your sister with reassembly of your shuttle cases.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
