I did look into the model and I am showing the replacment is 828115-1. I am not seeing it has been substituted to another part. I recommend calling 18004MYHOME customer care to determine if you received the incorrect part.

Thank you for looking into it. As with the 2 chats with Sears Parts Direct and 2 phone calls to Sears parts Direct, calling the manufacture of the unit nobody can tell me why the replacement motor has 4 wires and the original has 3, nor can anyone tell me the proper way to connect the motor. The replacement part number clearly shows in the diagram it has 4 wires. I have exhausted every avenue given to me and yet don't have an answer, however my credit card has been debited. Is there anyway to escalate this to the department/person or place that can answer the question? Would you like me to send you a photo of the original motor?

I also am having this same problem. The picture shows 4 wires but the original only has 3 wires. This is the second one of these that has quit working on me. I really like this humidifier. The first one I had for about 5 years and just decided it to be age but this one is only a couple of years old. Kevin if you figure out how to install this please send me an e-mail Ref: humidifier and tell me what you found out. It seems you are not getting any satisfaction from sears as I also am not.

I have gone ahead and replaced the bad fan with the one with the extra wire and I just wire nutted the extra wire off by itself and connected the other 3 wires to the unit, crossed my fingers and plugged it in. Its been 2 weeks and running great. Thank you American ingenuity.
