Water heaters are normally pretty reliable until they reach a certain age. Like most of us. While you wait for the expert to review your model, I found a similar question from a previous expert post that may help. I attached the link below. Hope this helps get that hot water flowing.

Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having this problem with your water heater. There could be one of two problems the first is a faulty gas valve. If the valve will not open to allow the gas to the pilot, it will not light. To check for gas you can remove the pilot tubing at the valve. Then push the button on the gas valve. If you can hear and smell the gas the valve should be fine.

The second possibility could be a plugged orifice in the pilot assembly. I have provided you with the instructions for cleaning the filters on the water heater. Follow the instructions to remove the burner. Then remove the pilot tubing from pilot burner. When you look into the pilot burner, you should see a very small hole. You can clean this hole with a bread tie wire. Once the hole is cleaned out, you can reattach the tubing.

Before reassembling the water heater, clean the air intake filter and the flame arrestor. A dirty air intake and arrestor will cause the flame to go out because the water heater is over heating. Once cleaned you can reassemble the water heater and check the operation. I hope this is helpful.
