Thank you, Scott. That's what I was wondering..if it would be wise to replace. No problems yet so I guess I'll let sleeping dogs lie... Bought in 1993 ( Sears model) I was thinking about the new GE Hybrid, but that costs a BUNCH of money !

Normally both thermostats will need to be replaced to correct this problem. The upper thermostat is # 9001954015 and the lower is # 9000507015. Both of these thermostats are available at SearsPartsDirect . If you would like more assistance, additional details will be needed.
