Q:

bench grinder model 152-211620 152211620 Craftsman Bench grinder

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the bench grinder is dying after it starts. Due to it starting initially, I believe the capacitor is good. That would leave us with either the motor or the PCB board. It could be the motor is overheating or drawing too many amps and is shutting off, or there is a short with the board killing power to the motor.

Unfortunately, the motor is not a replaceable part. You may be able to take the components to an electrical supply locally to have them tested, they usually do that free of charge.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Good Evening Mark. Upon reviewing the diagram, part number 28259.00 is simply an on-off switch. What I need is a rotary speed control that is attached to/behind part number 27080.00 The part I need appears nowhere on the diagram, unless it is explicitly attached to and comes with the motor control board 28259.00 Thanks, Steve

Thank you for your reply. You are correct the switch I have marked is the on/off switch. I looked at the paper copy of the manual and it looks like the potentiometer is part of the control board. I marked it in the image below. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for Using Manage my life Mark

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. I looked up the model number you submitted. The parts list for this grinder does not have the parts for the motor listed separately. I suspect the motor has sealed ball bearings in each end of the motor bell. These bearings do not require any maintenance.

If you have further questions please reply below with more details.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
