It can be difficult to find programmable remotes for older garage door openers. Your opener is not going to be compatible with a universal remote.  It is different technology.  You may be able to install a conversion kit, part # 53682 at Sears Parts Direct .  The cost is $66.  I would recommend considering installing a new opener.  There are no parts available for this opener and it is over 20 years old.  If you live in California, New York or Minnesota they cannot send you this universal kit for your opener because it is not safety compliant with new regulations.  The newer openers contain additional safety features that this old model does not have.  You can check newer models at Sears .  If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. I'm assuming your garage door opener has dip switches. I was able to find some great information to help you to sync your homelink to your dip switch style garage door opener. I hope this helps.
