Q:

I have a Sears garage door opener #139.655000 with receiver #139.654021. What replacement remote do I need and how do I program it?

A:

We have remotes for everything. It sometimes seems most of them are hiding somewhere or in need of batteries or have lost the programming. In this case I found a previous expert post for your model garage door opener and attached below. As to the whole trinary/binary programming, I will also be interested in the expert answer. Hope it works! http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/127653-replacement-garage-door-opener-remote-system-139655000-opener-13953779

Thank you for your question.

I can understand why you want to have new remotes for your garage door opener.

The remotes are not compatible. The programming is fixed verses dip switch.

  • This unit is over 20 years old, and it no longer meets the Federal and State safety requirements with safety sensors. I really recommend that this unit be replaced. The parts for this opener are no longer available.

  • You can use the new universal remote and receiver kit, part number 53751 with one remote.
This will convert your 390 mghz to a 315 mghz and update the to the new security features. However this kit cost about half of the new opener price.

Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this will help answer you question.
