Q:

Craftsman garage door opener won't close door 139.53992D

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Craftsman garage door opener model 139.53992D.  I am so sorry the door is reversing just prior to closure. I know how frustrating it can be when the door isn’t closing like it should. I will be happy to help you with this.

Your question did not indicate if this issue is with the remote controls, the wall control or the keyless pad. Do some functions work and not others, or is this issue the same regardless of how you are trying to close the door? I have included the link below for our manufacturer’s troubleshooting guide.

Since you indicated that the sending eye does not light, I recommend you check the sensor wiring and the sending eye. Based on the information in the manual, the sending eye should have an amber indicator light and the receiving eye should have a green indicator light. Since you indicated the sending eye is not lit, that may be the issue. I have also included the link for testing the safety sensors.

If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
