If the programming instructions do not work it could be the receiver that is the problem. It is a part of the logic board.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your garage door opener. It sounds like the remote was not properly programmed for this opener. Below, I have included an image of the programming instructions for this model. If the remote is still not working after this, then you will need to replace the logic board. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

I followed the above instructions from Annej Expert. I programmed the largest button of the three on the remote. It opened the garage door on the first try. However, it would not close the door. I closed the door by my wall switch and then pushed the button to open it again. This time the remote would not even open the door. I repeated the above sequence and obtained exactly the same results for the two smaller buttons. Obviously my new remote's battery works. Obviously each button showed evidence of sending a signal that was successfully received by the motor unit, although only once and then never again. QUESTION? Can you conclude anything I might try next in my home tests?

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the wait. It sounds like the logic board is recieveing the signal long enough to program the remote, but when you use the wall control is interfered with it. This means that either the logic board is failing, or the remotes have failed. I would suggest that you try a univeral remote first. It is more cost effective to replace these, then the logic board. You can pick these up at any local Sears store. If this remote does not work with the opener, then the logic board will need to be replaced. This can be an expensive part (up to $100) so if this is the case you may want to consider getting a new opener. Again, I apologize for the wait. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
