Question and Answers

Q:

remote can not open craftsman garage door 139.53675SRT1

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your questions about your Craftsman garage door opener model 139.53675SRT1. I am so sorry you are having problems with the remote control and the keyless entry. I know how inconvenient it can be when the garage door opener isn’t working right. I will be happy to help you with this.

Since you had to change a battery in one of the remotes, it is possible that it needs to be reprogrammed. I have included the link below for you to view the owner’s manual online. This way you can review the programming instructions to make sure you don’t miss a step.

The remote may lose its operating range if it is programmed within 3 feet of the garage door opener or receiver. What happens is the code is accepted but it is on the wrong frequency. If this happens try reprogramming the remote using the steps in the manual. The only difference is after you have pressed and released the learn button on the garage door opener, walk outside of the garage before releasing the button on the remote control. If the new battery and reprogramming the remote doesn’t work, then the remote may need to be replaced. Because of the age of this unit, you may want to consider a newer, more secure system.

I have included the link to our manufacturer’s support website. There are several helpful tips in the frequently asked question section and support videos to watch.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

At this point your older garage door opener is not set up to receive signals from HomeLink. You may need an adapter to make the two compatible. Or they may not be able to link. I have included the link below for you for the HomeLink website.

With information about your garage door opener and your car, you will be able to navigate the site to determine if the garage door opener can be upgraded for HomeLink or if it would need to be replaced. We are not able to check this for you since we do not maintain the vehicle information in our database.
