Question and Answers

Q:

when the opener is pushed it just makes a clicking noise, the motor doesnt run 13953671SRT1 Craftsman Garage door opener

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your garage door opener. Hold your hand on the outside of the motor unit and get someone to press the button on the wall control. If the motor is running and the gears are stripped, you should feel the vibration of the motor running. If the control board inside the motor unit is clicking (this would be from the relay closing) but not turning the motor on, the control board needs to be replaced. If the motor is running and the garage door is not moving, remove the outer cover on the motor unit and check the gears. You can see the motor shaft turning or not turning. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using Manage My Life.com.

I have a question for an expert, but I don't see how to pose and post it on the website. Recently, my remotes have to be pressed many, many, many times before they open/close the door. The problem first manifested itself as I would push the button to raise the door as I came in, but would press it again to stop the door 3/4 of the way up, just high enough to get my car. I noticed that the garage door did not respond - it would continue all the way to the widest position open. Now, I have the problem detailed above. I have bought new batteries, no change. I have reprogrammed the remotes, no change. The wired wall button works 100% of the time.

Q:

Garage opener 139.53671SRT1 open on its own

A:

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand your concern with the garage door opening on its own. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, I suspect the garage door opener is detecting a signal from an outside source or the wall control has problems. To confirm the wall control is the problem, just disconnect it and use the remote control to move the garage door. If that solves the problem, replace the wall control. Otherwise, check the back of the opener for a blinking led. That would indicate it is receiving a signal from an outside source. Also, the door may be opening due to a neighbor having a garage door opener using the same code. To solve both problems, clear the opener memory by holding down the learn button on the opener until the led goes out. Next, reprogram the remote as shown on the image below. I hope this helps.

Q:

I have tried to program 3 new garage remotes #139.59681 to replace the original 59681B but no succes

A:

You need to match the colored learn button with the new remotes. You have a red learn button I believe which means your unit operates at 390mhz. If you bought the new remotes that coincide with the purple learn button then it operates at 315mhz. These remotes also have black buttons. If you go to sears or to sears.com have the color of the learn button or the model number handy and they can match it up for you. Clicker also makes a universal remote that will work. Thanks BB
