Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener Continuous Clicking Noise 13953648D

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your garage door opener. Upon researching model number 13953648D; inspect the gears while the unit is trying to function. The gears may be worn and not engaging. It may be the motor capacitor if the gears are not moving.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day

Inop 13953648D Craftsman 1/2 hp garage door opener

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the wall control and remotes not working. I know how frustrating that is.

The premium wall control console has a lock feature that will prevent operation of the garage door when activated. Based upon your description of no errors on the LED, it sounds like the console lock may have been activated.

There is a button on the wall console labeled lock. This is the vacation lock and disables the remotes and keypad at the receiver. Press and hold this button in for 2 seconds. Then let go and the light should glow solid again.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

i need a schematic diagram for circuit board for garage door opener model 139.53310 Part # 41a4207-6

A:

The Chamberlain group manufactures garage door openers for Sears. There is no schematic available. If you were to call them directly they would say the board is proprietary and they don't sell parts for it or info. You can only buy the whole board.

Some electricians/handymen if they know what they are doing can do what you have described I suppose. I realize you don't want to buy a whole board. But maybe you should look at this in a different light. I would suggest a good quality surge protector rather than in stalling one directly to the unit. You can get some that blow fuses or trip and this would accomplish the same thing. Sorry there is no help for your original problem. Make sure and unplug the unit before you open it up. And do a 2x4 safety reversal test after any adjustments Thanks BB

Things like this really get me steamed. I have some old Sears garage door openers that actually had schematics in the owners manual. The logic boards in those had dip switches, when those boards failed the one referenced here was supplied by Sears as a replacement. But as the other answer given here states, there is no information available for these boards. Of course they want to force you to buy the whole board rather than be able to repair yours.
